Premio Coppini 2026: The Thread That Connects

In celebration of the 2026 Coppini Prize to mark the 80th anniversary of the olive oil company’s founding, I contributed the original artwork for Coppini Arte Olearia’s limited-edition extra virgin olive oil, interpreting the theme “The Thread That Connects”.

My illustration celebrates the themes of connection, harmony, and conviviality through the use of visual metaphor, portraying unity as something that goes beyond the sum of its individual parts.

The thread that brings everything together takes shape in the drizzle of olive oil which, through the simple act of seasoning, binds the elements on the plate, creating a connection between different flavors and enveloping them in a new harmony. The gesture of the hand pouring the oil, through an evocative and convivial circular motion, is reflected in the spiral that structures the entire composition. The thread of oil, which symbolically becomes an embrace, thus represents a sense of unity, harmony, and sharing.
