Voilà le bebé

Hours lasting instants and years-long days. A lunatic flow of time slips away in loving care. All the energies, all the love and all the feelings roll to nourish a little seed that suddenly sprouts and … voilà! A new life blooms and we turn into parents.

I created this illustration for the 20th edition of the Tapirulan Illustrator Contest, which I particularly appreciate because it’s all a matter of playing around a single term. Word of this year is: voilà, which calls to my mind the idea of creating something extraordinary, and what is more extraordinary than creating life! So, I decided to focus on the ideas of birth and parenthood adding suggestions from nature to represent this feeling of surprise and love for life with the visual metaphor of the blooming sprout.
